My dear Mr Darwin

I strongly think that Crüger’s valuable paper shd. appear in the Linnean Socy’s Journal.1 I think N. H. R. wd. interfere were it to take possession of it.2

I shall therefore send it to Mr. Bentham3 as comd. by you.— First, however, I must read it myself

In his letter to Daniel Oliver of 17 February [1864], CD enclosed the paper sent by Hermann Crüger in his letter of 21 January 1864. It was published in the Journal of the Linnean Society (Botany) (Crüger 1864).
Oliver was one of the editors of the Natural History Review.
George Bentham was the president of the Linnean Society.
